Reggie Bush Sets NFL Rookie Receptions Record
Reggie Bush caught five passes Sunday to set an NFL record for receptions by a rookie.
Reggie Bush, the Saints' first-round draft choice from Southern Cal, caught five passes for 19 yards Sunday in a 16-10 loss to the Washington Redskins at the Superdome.
For the season, Reggie Bush has caught 84 passes for 706 yards. Earl Cooper had caught 83 passes in 1980 as a rookie with the San Francisco 49ers.
Reggie Bush hasn't put up big numbers as a running back "" running for just 419 yards this season "" but he has compiled 1,334 total yards. That includes 209 yards in punt returns along with his receiving and rushing totals.
