Reggie Bush injured his knee in the Week 7 game against Carolina and had surgery to repair a torn meniscus the next day. The timetable for his return was set at 2-4 weeks, and a return in Week 10 would put him at the 3 week mark.
Bush and coach Sean Payton aren't seeing him return for this week's matchup. So far he's only missed the Week 8 contest with San Diego because of the Week 9 bye. He sould be ready to face the Chiefs in Week 11.
On Wednesday he ran outside for the first time in his recovery process. He is being careful with his recovery so he doesn't push it and re-aggravate the knee but he felt so good about his recent workouts that he assuring a Week 11 return.
"That's how good I feel right now, " said Bush, who had surgery to repair torn meniscus in his left knee less than three weeks ago. "Definitely with another week I'll feel 100 percent ready to go."
Until he returns, Deuce McAllister will continue to start in his place. In his start last week against the Chargers he had 18 carries for 55 yards and a TD. In the Saints last full game with Reggie Bush they had 122 net rushing yards and 26 return yards. Without him? Down to 70 rushing yards and eight return yards. Bush may not have huge yardage numbers but he is tied for second in total TDs with 8.
