Top College Running Backs for 2007 - 2008

This is from the Heismanpundit.com
1. Darren McFadden, Arkansas--Extremely versatile back with a running gait akin to OJ's. Breakaway threat with rare football intelligence.

A rare talent

2. C.J. Spiller, Clemson--The closest thing to Reggie Bush since Reggie Bush. Explosive downtown runner with incredible vision and moves.

3. Steve Slaton, West Virginia--Big-play back who is deadly in space. Great production and always seems to make the right cut to daylight.

4. Jamaal Charles, Texas--Fastest back in the country has bulked up for every-down play. Could put up huge numbers with increased carries.

5. Michael Goodson, Texas A&M--Outstanding speed and vision. Could end up being the Big 12's best back.

6. P.J. Hill, Wisconsin--In the mold of the great Badger backs. Not quite as big as Ron Dayne, but has quicker feet and more shiftiness in tight spaces.

7. Mike Hart, Michigan--Tough, reliable and relentless back who almost always produces when it matters most. The 'Hart' of the Wolverine offense.

8. Jonathan Stewart, Oregon--Mega talent who has battled injuries but has all the looks of a future first round pick.

9. Felix Jones, Arkansas--Toils in the shadow of McFadden, but is electric in his own right. Would start for probably 98 per cent of the teams in Div. I right now.

10. Ryan Torain, ASU--Late bloomer who looks primed for big season. Physical back with deceptive speed.
